Most recent info: |
(webmasters note: Since 2001, Jeff was caught up in multiple tours to Kuwait and Iraq where he was repeatedly recalled to duty there totaling more than 2 years of duty in that region with seemingly unending repetitious extensions and redeployments. It is my understanding that e is currently back in Atlanta. Similar situations have affected many other SCN'ers.) |

Designation: |
Radio DJ & TV Personality |
|
| Duties: |
Tony T (Tiger) was an on air personality. He was well known as a radio DJ and in his work on a few episodes of the "Que Pasa" TV program. He also directed some TV. Tony was the last DJ on the air when the Canal Zone era officially ended and the first DJ which entered into the era beginning the final 2 decades of transformation into Panama. The final song of the CZ era was "The Way We Were." Tony worked all of the board shifts from Graveyard to mornings. He finished his tour in Panama as the morning man but the afternoons were his favorite. He always ended his show with, "That's gonna do it for me. Tony T as always, stand tall and keep it ever ever so tight." Tony used to have characters on the show such as the Godfather and these adoring females who used to say his name in a very sultry manner. |
|
| Trivia: |
On humorous note, after leaving SCN, Tony was on board ship for an oil company transiting the canal. The Canal pilot came on board, who usually goes directly to the Captain of the vessel but this time, he walked right past the Captain and put his arm around Tony and said, "Tony T, where the hell have you been?!! My daughter and I were just talking about you last night." The Captain talked about that incident for weeks! |
